Courage takes many forms,
Has lots of winding paths
Like my walk this morning.
It can start in one area of life,
Spilling into other places.
Often times courage isn’t revealed
Until later, after you’ve been brave
And sometimes it can be hard to recognize
As we rarely think of ourselves as courageous.
Yet this feeling keeps surfacing in
God is leading me on new roads
To conquer, scaring me and freeing me
All at once.
I am listening, perhaps for the first time,
Learning to follow where courage takes me.
Friends, please know
I might need your hand to hold,
A shoulder to cry on,
Love to see me through.
Because courage doesn’t happen alone.
