Walk #14: Old Town Temecula

Part 1: Morning

A walk down Old Town Temecula

On a clear morning after a January rain

With friends who have known me

For most of my life

Start the day off right

On this long overdue women’s weekend.

The caffeine lifted the morning fog

Within us as we eagerly awaited

The day’s highlight of wine tasting.

Part 2:  Afternoon

On the walk back to our hotel,

Full of wine and laughter

We took a detour for chips and salsa,

Discussing a myriad of topics

With compassion, sincerity, love.

The rays of the late afternoon sun

Danced on our faces

Keeping us warm in the cool air.

In that moment I knew

I would fondly remember

What it felt like to be so well embraced

In a lifetime of friendship.
